Girl Scout “Think Like A Programmer” STEM Event
Volunteers needed to assist with RESET’s “Think Like a Programmer” Computer Science (CS) program for Girl Scouts in Maryland in the November/December 2018 time-frame (dates TBD). Volunteers need not have a CS background; they will assist with “unplugged” activities and will be provided with detailed instructions on the activity. Volunteers with coding backgrounds can assist with SCRATCH programming lessons. Events are normally held on weekends and are a 3–4 hour commitment. Please email shaheen.khurana@gmail.com if you are willing to participate for all or part of the time.

RESET (Raising Excitement for Science, Engineering and Technology)

RESET uses hands-on experiments, inquiry-based classroom activities, and complementary field trips to introduce children—many of them from under-resourced communities and schools—to the joys of science.

Curiologie in the Classroom

The mission of CiC is to inspire future generation of scientists by bringing hands-on experiments and activities to middle school students at Shaw Public Charter School. We also aim to connect students with positive, diverse role models to introduce them to career possibilities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Techbridge Girls

Techbridge Girls aims to excite, educate, and equip girls from low-income communities in the DC area to inspire a passion for science, technology, and engineering. GW COMPASS is actively partnering with Techbridge Girls as of Fall 2018! Interested in participating? Contact Rose Yin at roseyin@email.gwu.edu.
